The question that we looked at for this set assignment was: What is the average time it takes to find a set? We decided to study this by setting up a game of set and timing how long it takes for us to find a set. We repeated this process 20 times in order to get an accurate average time. The result of this study was an average set time of 58 seconds. After doing this study, we noticed that our times seemed lower due to the pressure of being timed.
Many of our times were a lot lower than the average time, but the average was raised by a few sets that took a long time to find. If we were to further study this, I believe that it would be beneficial to not have the time down on the table, but rather have it somewhere where we can't see it. I also think that we should have gotten other times from our peers in order to make the average time more accurate. Some of the other groups got a much lower average time, so I think that it would have been beneficial to get a larger pool of data to go off of.
