The first product that I worked on for my internship was this video for the Escondido Street Faire. I went out to the event and filmed for my first day of interning. I spent the next couple of days editing the footage into this video, intended to promote the event. This was a great experience for me to be able to take on a project like this and have the freedom to be creative with it. My mentor and I were very pleased with how this turned out.
The second, and more time consuming project that I worked on for my internship was creating the program for the Annual Installation and Awards Dinner. I had never worked with the program Adobe InDesign prior to creating this product, but because I am a very fast learner, I was able to quickly understand how to utilize all of the program's features to create a product that truly pleased my mentor.
There are several reasons why this internship project was important. The first being the experience that I got out of working as an intern and having the opportunity to put some of my skills to the test in creating final products such as these. I have also been a real benefit to my mentor in my time as an intern, which is something that is very important for an intern to be able to do. The project that I did allowed my mentor to focus her attention onto other areas due to the fact that she did not have to worry about creating the program. My efficiency as an intern has proven to be very important, and I think that this really made me stand out from interns they have had in the past.
